“Alice”, oil on canvas, 122 x 122 cm, 2025

Narelle Sissons

I explore the female perspective through large-scale figurative paintings. Working with fluid, seductive colours and expansive shapes, I pour and move paint to create forms that are often playful while balancing strength and vulnerability. The shapes press against the canvas edges, as if too big for the box, expressing an idea of not conforming to others’ expectations.
