About Alex Di Silvestro

Alex Di Silvestro is an Italian-born contemporary visual artist known for his bold minimalist portraits that transform human, animal and symbolic subjects into powerful, iconic visuals. His career began in early 2000s London, working across fashion & portrait illustration, visual design and visual arts, before co-directing a luxury fashion brand alongside British couturier Candy Anthony.

Working intuitively rather than academically, Di Silvestro developed a distinctive minimalist style characterised by clean lines, flat colour fields, strong chromatic contrast and the deliberate absence of visible brushstrokes. Influenced by the legacy of Andy Warhol and the visual power of contemporary iconography, street and pop art, his work reduces subjects to their essential forms, balancing graphic precision with emotional presence.

Positioned at the intersection of contemporary art and design, his practice emphasises clarity, symbolism and visual impact. Each work is individually conceived and executed with careful attention to composition, material quality and finish. Rooted in Italian and British visual culture & craftsmanship, each artwork is individually conceived and produced by the artist with close attention to detail, material quality and finish. His practice reflects a dialogue between contemporary art and design, where visual simplicity and symbolic power, play a central role.

Di Silvestro’s portraits function as visual signatures, designed not only for representation but for spatial integration within contemporary architectural and interior contexts. His work is collected internationally and has been featured on UK Channel 4 television, as well as exhibited in curated and institutional contexts including the Royal College of Art in London and Street Art City in France. He has also collaborated on sponsorships and commercial partnerships spanning the art, fashion and equestrian worlds.
